19th ANNUAL COMMUNITY DROP OFF

The Community Drop Off is back and will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 9:00-12:00.  Groups made up of families and learners will be stationed at Coginchaug Regional High School to unload and pack your donations to be delivered to our local food banks.  During these hours, community members are encouraged to bring any donations of food, toiletries, paper goods, pet supplies, grocery gift cards, or cash to CRHS and drop them off to our volunteers.  If you would rather mail in a monetary or gift card donation, please send them to Strong Middle School (address below).  All checks should be made out to the DMYFS. This community project has been an annual Durham and Middlefield event for the last 18 years and has filled both towns’ food pantries each year.  Additional food items are also delivered to the Amazing Grace food pantry in Middletown . Last year 10,500 pounds of food and over $2,100.00 in cash and gift cards were collected!

This cross-age project, co-sponsored by DMYFS,  allows learners and adults to work together and experience the true spirit of the holiday season.  For further information, please contact Rebecca Sinusas or Kathy Bottini, Co-chairs at the Strong Guidance Department (860-349-2011).
