Extreme fire danger is expected again today. Warmer temperatures are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the upper 60’s on Tuesday and mid 70’s on Wednesday. Stronger southwest winds are expected on both days. However, higher RH% on Tuesday may help to limit fire spread somewhat. Red Flag Warnings are likely for Wednesday and may be needed again on Friday. CONTINUED EXTREMELY DRY WEATHER THIS WEEK… Long range computer models are currently indicating no significant rainfall for the next 7 days. Persons wanting further information should monitor the DEEP Forestry Website at https://portal.ct.gov/deep/forestry/forest-fire/forest-fire-danger-report for updates. If you have received a permit from our local Open Burning Official to burn brush on your property, the permit is not valid if the Forest Fire Danger is rated high, very high or extreme and you are burning within 100 feet of a grassland or woodland.
